The Jays have released former first round draft pick David Cooper. CBS reports that the Jay would be interested in resigning him to a minor league deal. David Cooper has a serious back injury so there is no timeline for when he will be able to play in the MLB. This injury occurred late last season. Last year before his injury, David had 145 at-bats hitting .300 with 11 doubles, four homeruns, and eleven RBI’s. This injury moves Luis Jimenez up on the depth chart if an injury occurs at the first base position.
