Jays win pitching duel over Sox
The Jays pitchers combined to throw a shutout of the Red Sox as the Jays beat them 1-0. J.A Happ started and continued his case for why he should be a starter for the Jays, by pitching six innings, while giving up two hits and two walks, while striking out three. Cassey Janssen then came in to pitch the seventh and had a 1-2-3 inning getting two strikeouts. Not to be outdone Sergio Santos came in next and struck out the side in order. Santos got the win (1-0). Esmil Rogers pitched the ninth inning and got the save (1). Jose Reyes went 0-1 with two walks. Emilio Bonifacio went 0-3 with two strikeouts. Melky Cabrera went 1-3. Jose Bautista went 0-3 with two strikeouts. Adam Lind went 0-3. J.P. Arencibia went 0-3 with two strikeouts as well. Colby Rasmus went 0-2 with a walk. Mark Derosa went 2-3 with a double (3). Maicer Izturis went 1-3.
