Romero gets a win but still optioned

The Jays beat the Pirates 6-3.  Ricky Romero was starting for the Jays and pitched 4.1 innings giving up three runs, only two were earned though.  Ricky gave up six hits and walked three while getting two strikeouts. Ricky got the win (1-1), but after the game was optioned to Class A Dunedin to work on his mechanics.  Hopefully he can get them working again and come back to the Majors and have a great career.  Darren Oliver came in to finish the fifth and got one strikeout in 0.2 innings. Then Dustin McGowan pitched a 1-2-3 inning.  Marcus Stroman pitched the seventh and eighth innings, giving up one walk while striking out two.  Alex Hinshaw pitched the ninth inning, walking one. Hinshaw got the save (1).

Jose Reyes went 1-3 with a stolen base (2).  Melky Cabrera went 1-3.  Jose Bautista went 0-1 with a walk and a run scored.  J.P. Arencibia went 1-3 with two strikeouts and one RBI (12).  Adam Lind went 2-3 with a double, and a homerun and two RBI’s (8) .  Rajai Davis went 1-4 with a homerun(3). Maicer Izturis went 0-3.  Emilio Bonifacio went 2-3.
